The BGGA Class of 2016

Senior Photos_11The 2015-2016 school year is one for the record books. Bishops Gate Golf Academy is graduating a record number of seniors who will be attending a record number of colleges, and our students claimed a record number of tournament wins. We saw two hole-in-ones drop on our home course, and we saw several students claim their first wins.

We are extremely proud to be represented by each and every one of the members of the Class of 2016. We wish you best of luck in college in beyond!

Ana Paula Valdes: Clemson University

  • “I fell in love with Clemson since the first day I visited, not only because it is one the top schools in the country but also because of the beauty of the place where it is located. From a golf standpoint, I chose Clemson because of the passion and competitiveness within the golf team and coaches.”

Gaby Coello: University of Georgia

  • “It’s hard to put into words why I chose Georgia. Georgia was my first visit, and I knew it was the right fit. As soon as I saw everything for the first time, I knew I wanted to be there to spend four years of my life. I’m really happy and really humbled. All the hard work has paid off. I can not wait to be a Dog and get to win a couple of national titles with the team.”

Karen Miyamoto: University of Washington

  • “The team at the University of Washington is really awesome. The head coach has been the coach for a long time, and I really trust her. I love the campus, too. I can’t wait to join the Washington Golf Team in the fall and play as a Husky!”

Jasper Lee: Holy Names University

  • “Holy Names University is in a perfect location for me. The coach is really nice and the school gives me a lot of academic options that I am passionate about studying. I can’t wait to start in the fall and see where college takes me.”

Marisa Hisaki: University of Northern Colorado

  • “When I met the team at Northern Colorado I immediately felt like I had bonded with them. They are all so friendly and supportive. I also really liked the coach. He is so nice and willing to help me grow into the golfer I need to be. I can’t wait to start in such a beautiful place!”

Yeji Ahn: East Tennessee State University

  • “I think ETSU has a great facility, and the people make it even better. I really like the people on the team, and the coach is super nice. I am most looking forward to getting to play golf as a team sport, and I can’t wait to start playing for ETSU!”

Rei Nakatani: University of California, Davis

  • “From the time I moved to the U.S, attending top ranked university with an elite golf program was my goal. I strongly believe that UC Davis is top in the country in both of these categories.  The women’s golf program at UC Davis is still fairly young, and I am excited to create new records and history for women’s golf program with my team during my next four years.”

Marcos Montenegro: Barry University

  • “I am really happy to attend Barry University because it is a great university and is located close to BGGA. The golf team is amazing, and the coach is really good. I am grateful for Bishops Gate Golf Academy and the Argentinian Federation for all of their support, and I can’t wait to start my college career.”

Tsukasa Kimishima: Alabama State University

  • “I love the golf facilities at Alabama State University. It has everything I need to train and this place can really help me be a better golfer. The atmosphere of the team is really friendly and like a family. Coach Gary is a little quiet, but he makes everything fun and will be a great friend.”
