Over the weekend of May 14-15, students from Bishops Gate Golf Academy traveled to Orange County National in Orlando, Florida to play in the International Junior Golf Tour’s Orlando Open. They were welcomed with near-perfect weather for both rounds, and OCN was in great condition.
In the Boys Division, Ryo Harada claimed the title with a tournament total 4-under-par 72-68-140. Just one shot behind Ryo, Ian Peng carded a tournament total 141 to claim solo-second place. BGGA students filled out the top-5, with Tristan Galant and Dongjin Park sharing a tie for third and HaoHua Zhang claiming solo-fifth. Students also claimed 9 other top-20 spots.
In the Girls Division, Marisa Hisaki claimed the victory in her last-ever event as a junior. Marisa carded yet another wire-to-wire victory with a tournament total 6-under-par 70-68-138. Now that Marisa’s junior career has come to a close, she will be attending the University of Northern Colorado in the fall. Sharing a tie for second in the Girls Division, Ximena Gonzalez finished with a 6-over-par 75-75. Rounding out the top-5, Claire Jeon claimed a solo-fifth finish in the Girls Division.
