Bishops Gate Golf Academy (BGGA) student-athlete Tianyu Wu signed with the Washington State Cougars men’s golf team.

“Tianyu will be a great addition to the program and we are excited to work with him,” said Dustin White, Washington State men’s golf head coach. “He will add a high level of competitiveness to the team, and his pursuit of wanting to play at the highest level will motivate everyone around him. He has had success on multiple stages thus far and the Pac-12 will soon be another.”

Besides being a BGGA student-athlete, Wu is a member of the China National Junior Team, representing Team China against Team USA in the Golf Ball Diplomacy Duel at Trump International Golf Club at West Palm Beach, and in the Evian Junior Cup in 2015.

His achievement spans even further with appearances in many other junior championships including the Volvo Junior Match Play Championship in 2014, placed in the top-30 in the Callaway Junior World that same year, and winning the Taiwan Junior open the following year.

The young golfer also tied for second in the 40th Junior North and South Championship at Pinehurst in North Carolina in 2018, won the CJGA World Challenge at Innisbrook Resort in December 2017 and placed sixth in the St. Augustine Amateur.

Last year, Wu qualified for the 2018 PGA Tour China Series Beijing Championship, and finished fifth in the Florida Junior Amateur. He also earned the privilege to be a BGGA 2018-2019 Ambassador.
