BGGA students were treated to a clinic by 2005 U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell on Friday, Oct. 3. Campbell hit balls on the range and talked to the BGGA students and staff about his humble beginnings and how he grew to become a successful professional golfer.
Campbell discussed persevering through ups and downs of his career. Heading up to the U.S. Open in 2005, Campbell missed five cuts. By sticking true to his training, he was able to turn the tide and win the U.S. Open at Pinehurst and follow it up with a win at the HSBC World Match Play Championship later that year.
BGGA students asked Campbell about a variety of topics including mental preparation, pre-shot routine, and nutrition. With over 15 professional wins under his belt, Campbell provided BGGA students and staff with a wealth of knowledge on how to compete at the professional level.
