Day one of the Optimist International Tournament of Champions welcomed BGGA students with a “chamber of commerce” day in Palm Beach, Fla. Playing one of the hardest courses on the PGA TOUR, PGA National’s Champion course, the boys battled a windy afternoon. In the 16-18 Boys Division, Tom Broxup and Marcos Montenegro sit among the top-15 with a 2-over-par 74 and even-par 72, respectively. Zaffar Sikkander sits in the top-15 of the 14-15 Boys Division with a 6-over-par 78. In the Girls Division, Karen Arimoto sits T10 with a 4-over-par 76, and Mami Yamamoto sits T3 with a 1-over-par 73. The girls played PGA National’s Fazio course.

At the FCWT Rio Pinar, Tristan Gallant lead the way with an even-par 72 to sit in second place in the Boys 12-14 Division. Yuichi Murao is one shot behind Gallant with a one-over-par 73.
