Over the weekend of October 17-18, 2015, a group of Bishops Gate Golf Academy students traveled to Savannah, GA, for the International Junior Golf Tour’s Georgia Open at Savannah Quarters. The 36-hole event was hosted at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, GA. BGGA was represented by students in all three divisions of the tournament. The weekend was full of high winds and tough scoring conditions.

In the Boys 15-19 Division, BGGA students claimed four top-10 finishes and 5 additional top-20 finishes. Tskukasa Kimishima carded a 2-over-par 146 to claim a solo-second finish, followed closely behind by Tennoshin Ogawa. Tennoshin finished just three shots back to claim a solo-third finish. Won Jun Choi and Dong Jin Park filled out BGGA’s group of top-10 finishers at T7 and 10, respectively.

In the Girls Division, BGGA students claimed six top-10 finishes, including a first-place finish and two T3 finishes. Maria Vesga, a Baylor University verbal commit, fired a 2-over-par 146 to claim a first-place finish by seven shots. Yukie Sasaki and Ximena Gonzalez fired tournament totals of 12-over-par to claim their T3 finishes. Rounding out the top-10 finishes is Yeji Ahn (5), Tracy Lee (6), and Marisa Hisaki (10).

BGGA’s sole representative in the Boys 14 & Under Division was Shoichiro Sakamoto, who fired a tournament total 81-84-165 to claim a solo-second place finish.
